March Mental Notes

Not willing to share that last piece of Mango Bravo.
March 4: Newlyweds Gaile and Howard held a despidida dinner party for Tata at a friend's condo in Makati. It was my first taste of a fondue dinner, as well as cooking steak cubes, vegetables and tuna in a small pot of superheated oil. Other things I learned that evening (owing to me not be a general snoop on people's private lives)-- Tata's bisexual, and Jac's her girlfriend.

The elephant did not come with the house.
March 26-27: Dee held a Miss Earth Hour party at their (relatively) new home. I offered to cook pasta, and when they turned off the lights at 9PM I thought owing to the theme of the party it'd only be for an hour, but turns out it was for the rest of the evening.  (Luckily the oven lights got a reprieve.)  Finished making my non-famous spaghetti and even whipped up a vegetarian variation for one of the guests, T.J.. A nice surprise was seeing old batchmate and Dee's next village neighbor Kester Facunda. (Other batchmate Jehan Sia lives in the same village as Dee.)
As informal as passing-of-the-crown-ceremonies go.
March 27: My returning bundle-of-cute godchild Kara Naomi Uy Chong was in the country to celebrate turning One. The lack of smiles was due to the fact she didn't get enough sleep.
"My frown sez diva more than my hairband ever will!"

Old college friend-turned-phone-pal-turned-pissed-off-friend-turned-forgiven-if-not-forgotten-friend Jorinda Yao was also at the party. Given the history between her and Bong this arched my brow for a bit. (No, she wasn't keen on meeting up afterwards.)

March 28: Some last-minute planning had some Batch '94 people gather at Gerry's in Del Monte Avenue to dine w/ our Hong Kong "expats" Aimee and Bong. The cutie w/ the Jazz Hands is Teresa Tan's daughter.

"Focus!"
